Danger Zones

Danger Zones

A focused safety course dedicated to high-risk facial regions in aesthetic medicine. This program trains practitioners to accurately map critical vessels, nerves, and tissue planes, recognize early warning signs, and apply region-specific strategies to minimize complications and improve procedural safety. Special emphasis is placed on the early recognition and differential diagnosis of facial nerve injury.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify 9 critical facial danger zones and their boundaries
  • Anticipate vascular/nervous structures at risk during injection
  • Select safe entry points, planes, and volumes by region
  • Recognize and begin differential diagnosis of facial nerve damage

Curriculum Structure

  • Module 1 – Danger Zone: Forehead
Vascular pathways, planes, and injection risk considerations.
  • Module 2 – Danger Zone: Temporal Triangle
Deep vessels, nerves, and volume-related risks.
  • Module 3 – Danger Zone: Cheek Region
Midface vasculature and safe procedural strategies.
  • Module 4 – Danger Zone: Nose
High-risk vascular anatomy and safety principles.
  • Module 5 – Danger Zone: Oral Commissure
    Perioral structures and complication avoidance.
  • Module 6 – Danger Zone: Buccal Triangle
    Neurovascular anatomy and procedural awareness.
  • Module 7 – Danger Zone: Mental Region
Mental foramen, nerve pathways, and risk mitigation.
  • Module 8 – Danger Zone: Mandibular Border
Marginal mandibular nerve and vascular considerations.
  • Module 9 – Danger Zone: Erb’s Point
    Surface anatomy and nerve vulnerability.
  • Module 10 – Differential Diagnosis of Facial Nerve Injury
Clinical patterns, localization, and early decision-making.
